Tennis NSW is thrilled to announce that Expressions of Interest (EOI) to host the 2026 & 2027 NSW Closed Country Championships have officially opened.
The NSW Closed Country Championships is a premier regional tennis event that gathers the most talented regional players from across the state to compete at the highest level. Held annually from Friday to the following Friday during the first week of the Term 2 school holidays, the championships span across eight days. This event not only highlights the athletic prowess of regional players, but also fosters community spirit and engagement in tennis. Additionally, it offers the host an opportunity to showcase their venue and region to a broad and diverse audience.
EVENT DETAILS:
• Event duration: Eight days, from Friday to Friday.
• Timing: Scheduled for the first week of Term 2 school holidays (2026 dates: Friday 3 – Friday 10 July).
• Expected participants: Approximately 500 players, 40 coaches, and 750 spectators.
• Audience: Families, tennis enthusiasts, coaches, operators, Tennis NSW staff, and local small business.
SUBMISSION OF EOIs:
Being such a large event, there are a number of essential and highly desirable criteria which must be addressed in submissions. To see the full criteria please click here.
Expressions of interest are now open and submissions should include the completed covering application form plus an additional written proposal, addressing all criteria. Submissions should also include any further information which could strengthen the EOI.
