Primary Responsibilities of the Role

  • A passion for tennis and teaching.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant coaching qualifications and/or accreditation with Tennis Australia.
  • Demonstrated coaching experience in similar roles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Energetic, positive, and reliable with a strong work ethic.

Days/Hours per Week

  • 15–25 hours per week initially, with the opportunity to increase.

  • Own transport is essential due to varying coaching locations in the Byron Bay region.

Overview

Woy Woy Tennis Club – the third largest facility on the Central Coast NSW!

Facilities include 6 courts (total), 3 hardcourt and 3 synthetic grass courts, 4 courts with brand new LED lighting, and lines for 4 pickleball courts painted on one of the hardcourts. The facility is fully fenced either by court fencing or high security fencing. The ‘Book a Court’ system is installed on the main entrance gate. Coaches room / Pro Shop with pin code access, secure servery window, display wall, ample storage with multiple shelving units. Clubhouse with Kitchen and toilets that have been recently renovated and multiple covered sitting/spectator huts.

Currently the Coaching Program operates Tuesday – Saturday with approximately 60 participants. The coaching is currently being done by one Head Coach (departing) and one assistant coach. Programs running are Hot Shots (Blue through to Green Stage), Junior and Adult Private and Semi Private lessons as well as Cardio Tennis and Weet-bix Holiday Programs. Once a year (last year it was in Term 4) there is a schools program that runs for 9 weeks and has 90 students attend from the local Primary School. There are many other local Primary Schools and one Secondary School that could also be approached for school tennis programs. The coaching program has also recently been awarded the right to begin a Pickleball Coaching Program however this has yet to be implemented.

The incoming Coach Director will inherit a 4 year coaching agreement with the tennis clubs committee that is only 6 months in. The agreement includes a set monthly court lease fee and allows the coaching program to have priority use of as many of the courts as required at any time excluding times when courts are booked for organised social tennis.

There is huge scope here for growth in all areas of the business for anyone willing to put in the hours.

All current coaching equipment is included in the sale, top quality x-cart ball trolleys, ball pick-up tubes, extensive range of coaching aids, new and used balls (Red through to Yellow) as well as a full basket of brand new pickleballs, multiple Hot Shots Nets 3m through to 6m and one pickleball net, 60+ used junior and adult racquets, advertising signage, and an electric stringing machine with multiple reels of string (if required).

The current business name is not part of the sale.
